A Decade of GreenPower Support for the Oban High Geography Prize

GreenPower’s Nick Fennell presents the Carraig Gheal Senior Geography Award to Aimee Newiss

In September Oban High School held its annual prize giving awards, to celebrate the previous academic year and highlight the work of the outstanding achievers within the school. GreenPower’s Nick Fennell was invited to present the Carraig Gheal Senior Geography Award, which GreenPower first sponsored in 2015.

This year the prize was presented to Aimee Newiss, for her outstanding performance in Geography across the past year. Aimee was also involved in the renewable energy session GreenPower staff ran in December, which involved designing an updated Carraig Gheal Wind Farm layout from scratch.

Nick Fennell from GreenPower said: “Congratulations to Aimee and to all the geography students for their hard work during the last year. It is not long since I left school, and then university, and working in the renewable energy field is both exciting and rewarding. I really enjoyed meeting the students at Oban High, and it is encouraging to hear many of them talk about sustainable energy where there are so many career opportunities.”
