The closing date for the current round of funding for the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund – Main Grant is Monday 31st July. You still have time to get any new applications in for consideration by the local Steering Group members. The fund receives money from the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm; there is a micro grant scheme with awards of up to £250 available to individuals, constituted and non-constituted groups and the main grant scheme with awards of up to £7,000 available to constituted groups only. Completed applications must be received by 31st July 2017 and full details of the Benefit Fund and how to apply can be found here.
The fund has already helped with many projects in the surrounding Community Council areas including the construction of this new toddlers playpark. The application was made by the Dalavich Improvement Group. The grant of £7,000 was approved in September 2016 and the new play equipment is now in place for children to enjoy during the summer. Work is also under way on the restoration of the Clan stalls in the Chancel within St Conan’s Kirk.
