On the 8th October 2016 GreenPower’s 500kW Carie Hydro plant completed its first full year of operations. Over the course of this year the turbine generated a total of 1,865,268 kWh, enough to supply electricity to 420 Scottish households*. This has been a big success with the annual pre-construction budget of 1,706,000 kWh being beaten with time to spare on the 9th September. The additional generation above the annual prediction in this first year corresponds to the requirements of a further 36 Scottish households, long may it continue.
