Practice day on Saturday the 29 June had to be cancelled due to high winds that prevented the chair lift from operating. Some of the riders responded to the call for volunteers and helped the SDA committee to do track repairs instead of testing their riding skills on the mountain. By Sunday the wind had dropped, and the sun was shining. With only one race run allowed in the afternoon riders took advantage of the morning practice session to get to grips with the new sections of the track.
GreenPower CEO, Rob Forrest walked the track and commended the efforts of both the Glenshee staff and the SDA committee for their work on improving it.
“It is great to see Glenshee becoming one of the regular race venues for downhill mountain biking and our thanks go to all the staff at Glenshee who made us all very welcome and kept up a steady supply of food and drink throughout the weekend.”
Chair of the SDA committee Colin Houston with the race commentator Pip and one of the riders Fraser Houston, enjoying a spell on the hot seat.
