The Scottish Parliament was the venue for announcing this year’s short listed projects for 2024. The evening was well attended by politicians from all parties, sponsors of the individual Award categories and representatives from some of the projects hoping to hear they had made it through to the shortlist.
Graham Simpson MSP, welcomed guests to the Parliament before Ann McCall, Director of RSPB was joined by representatives from other funding partners to announce the short listed candidates.
Director, Julie Kirk, attended the event which GreenPower has supported from its early days and said, “I was delighted to be present to see and hear the buzz of excitement that went round the room following each of the announcements for the different categories.”
The Best Community Initiative will again be decided by public vote due to the interest shown last year. The public will vote online or by post for the Community Project they think deserves recognition for the positive impact they are having on nature conservation.
The short-listed projects in this category are:
Tayside Biodiversity Partnership – Community Nature Champions for 25 Years
The Power of Collaboration – For People, For Nature, For Climate
Healing in trees: The Cairngorms Connect Tree Nursery
The Coastal Champions of Berwickshire
