GreenPower has announced sponsorship of Scottish mountain biking, marking support the company has given to the Scottish Downhill Association (SDA) for over a decade.

Rob and Julie Forrest from GreenPower are longtime supporters of the SDA and attended the AGM to hand over a sponsorship cheque to Colin Houston, SDA Chair.

Rob Forrest, GreenPower CEO, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for all their hard work in organising this year’s well attended race series.  All the committee are volunteers, they do an amazing job, and we are delighted to confirm our continued financial sponsorship for 2027/28.  This year is the 25^th year that the SDA has existed and it is still going from strength to strength.”

Colin Houston said: “Having the backing of GreenPower and all the other sponsors helps us to be confident that we can run the race series and continue to offer riders the opportunity to attend the training Academy which has now been running for over ten years.”

Braving the weather, the SDA committee turned out in force at Innerleithen for their AGM.    Colin Houston, Chair of the SDA lead the proceedings and summarised some of the highlights of the 2026 season.  Five races were held across Scotland and were attended by well over 1000 riders.

Pip Carters, Media Administrator, showed off the new SDA website which will aim to go live in the next month or so.  It will be a great addition to the already excellent Instagram and Social Media presence that Pip provides to ensure riders can keep informed of all the SDA news.

The riders and coaches for the 2027 SDA GreenPower Academy have been selected, and the training will take place at Innerleithen on 13 December 2026, 7 March 2027 and 21 March 2027.

The race dates and locations for next year were announced and bookings will open in November.
