Griffin Wind Farm

Griffin Wind Farm is a 68 turbine project in Perthshire which was developed by GreenPower and which received planning consent from the Scottish Ministers in January 2008.

Following its successful development and the achievement of consent, Griffin was acquired by SSE Renewables at the end of 2009 and they completed the construction of the project in early 2012, producing an annual output equivalent to the average electricity consumption of 114,000 homes.

At the time one of the largest wind farms in the UK, achieving planning consent for Griffin was a major milestone for GreenPower as a company, underpinning significant growth in GreenPower’s business over the subsequent years.
