This year’s RSPB nature of Scotland Awards Best Community Initiative is again sponsored by GreenPower, for the 11th year, and will be decided by a Public Vote.
Julie Kirk, Director, GreenPower was on the short-listing committee with Ann Rowe, Head of Communications and Membership, Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations and Robert Coleman, RSPB, Area Manager Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and Tayside.
Julie explained “Our job was to review the applications and select the top 5/6 projects that we thought should be voted on by the public. As in previous years the quality and diversity of the projects was amazing, and it will be interesting to see who people think have made the most impact in terms of putting wildlife’s needs at the centre of their project. It’s a tough one as they are all incredibly inspiring.”
The shortlist for all the project categories will be revealed at the Scottish Parliament on 10 September.
The Awards Ceremony will then take place on 20 November at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
