GreenPower’s first year of sponsorship of the Scottish Downhill Mountain Biking Association Academy has now come to an end and we have seen some great improvements within the year:
Juvenile
Jaz Swinton – Confidence has been boosted by his time on the Academy; still developing well with improved results.
Adam Suddaby – Moved in to Youth Category this year so still finding his feet amongst his contempories; confidence has improved and he has noted a better ‘style’ to his riding technique.
Youth
Cinneadh Allison – Has only been able to race one event this year which is a disappointment as the places on the Academy were keenly sought after.
Harris Mackie – Has only been able to compete at 2 events this year but showing promise with 2 top 10 results.
Jnr Women
Gemma Taylor – 2015 has been a massive year for Gemma; riding both the SDA and National Series, with improved results and selected on merit for the 2015 World Cup at Fort William
Snr Women
Rachael Simpson – Huge improvement in Rachael’s confidence and riding skills which she directly attributes to her time on the Academy; now podiums at National and SDA level.
Vets
Ben Newton – Due to injury and a change of employment Ben has only been able to compete at one event this year.
Masters
Patrick Stanalowskil – Continues to improve results but now comments that he falls off less thanks to the Academy.
Senior
Chris Paul – Has only been able to compete at 2 events this year but showing promise with 2 top 15 results, in what is our biggest and most competitive field
Findley Forrest – Competed in all races and achieved improved placings; confidence boosted.
GreenPower’s second year of funding for the SDA will again be used to support the Academy but also will provide funding towards managing and keeping their website up to date.
The Academy shortlisting has now taken place and we are pleased to be supporting the following riders over the next year:

Junior | – Robbie Dunlop & Finn McKay |
Jnr Women | – Tea Jensen |
Snr Women | – Shona Mackinnon |

We wish them all the best of luck and hope they continue to benefit from our sponsorship.
