Rob Forrest, CEO, Elected to Scottish Renewables Board of Directors

Rob Forrest, GreenPower’s owner and CEO, is delighted to announce he has been elected to the Scottish Renewables Board of Directors.

Rob was one of the founders of the Scottish Renewables back in the late 1990’s and was its first Chief Executive, continuing to serve as a Director for 11 years. When he stood down in 2010 he always threatened “I’ll be back “. He felt the time was right to re-engage and having received the most votes in the election which saw 13 standing for 3 places it seems his decision has been vindicated.

In standing for election Rob said, “The renewables industry in Scotland has grown to its recent success story on the back of hard fought cross-party political support. The last year has seen that political support dramatically reduced across the UK; this is an election year and there is now a clear need for the renewables industry to win back support to allow all parts of our industry to continue to flourish”

On hearing the news of being elected he said, “I am delighted to have been selected and look forward to working with all our members over the next three years to ensure renewables retain and build on the fantastic support we already get from hard working families who rightly want to see their energy bills reflecting a switch from fossil fuels to low carbon, non-polluting energy sources.”
