Flinging Sensation

On the 26th of July 2025, our very own Blair Jameson and a group of 14 friends and family, took on a 12 hour darts marathon on behalf of McMillan Cancer Support.

Originally planned for a group of 6-7 people, with a relatively modest target of £500, they ended up with a group of 14, including some of Fife’s very best darts players.

“However, the day wasn’t about the darts it was about raising money for a fantastic cause, and one close to each of our hearts. We proceeded to blow the £500 target out of the water and raised an outstanding £1631.” said Blair.

Beginning at 11am, the atmosphere was electric, with friends and family of the players all coming to show support, the atmosphere stayed lively right through till 11pm when the last dart was thrown.

Hosted at the Wellesley Inn in Buckhaven, with a live singer from 8pm to the last dart at 11.00pm, it was a full day of individual tournaments, doubles tournaments, and just general “flinging”.  The day was a resounding success, with friendly competition all in the name of a brilliant cause.

McMillan Cancer Support provides vital services for people affected by cancer, from emotional support, to financial advice and nursing care, and events such as ours make sure that no one faces cancer alone.

Blair said “We’d like to thank everyone who donated from the bottom of our hearts, and also a special thanks to everyone who attended and showed support for making the day as incredible as it was.”
