Carie received planning permission on the 24th of December having had the CAR licence granted by SEPA a few days earlier. Carie is a 500 kW hydro station which will be located on the southern side of Loch Rannoch, Perthshire. It is located on Forestry Commission land. Over the coming months we will be liaising with Scottish Hydro Power Distribution to confirm the timescale for the grid connection and completing some further design work. It will likely take around 9 months to build the project once construction starts.
