Local energy company GreenPower has been supporting local events across Argyll in recent weeks. At the start of September, Development Manager Nick Fennell attended the annual Oban High School end of year Prizegiving, to celebrate the previous academic year and highlight the work of the outstanding achievers within the school. GreenPower has sponsored the High School Geography Prize since 2015.
This year the prize was presented to Jess Jevons, for her excellent performance in Geography across the past year. Jess is moving on to The University of St. Andrews to start studying medicine this September, and we wish her and her peers the best of luck.
Nick Fennell said: “Congratulations to Jess and to all the geography students for their hard work during the last year. Having been into Oban High School on a number of occasions, it has been great to hear about the future ambitions of many of the pupils, including many interested in careers in tackling climate change. We’re already looking forward to working further with the school over this coming academic year, and have some exciting plans ahead.”
Elsewhere, GreenPower was pleased to continue its support for the Dalmally Show, providing £1000 in sponsorship as well as the GreenPower display flags to the show, which took place on Saturday 6th September this year. This is the fourth year that GreenPower has sponsored the local agricultural show which is a key part of the North Argyll events calendar, and includes traditional events judging cattle, sheep and poultry, as well as entertainment including a pipe band, shinty, and plenty of local food and drink.
