Our three year funding package aims to raise the profile of the sport and help the SDA secure a firm basis for their ongoing activities. GreenPower’s support will enable 12 riders a year to receive the benefits of coaching and advice to help them improve their overall ranking. Riders have been drawn from each of the age categories supported by the SDA and include both male and female riders. In the first instance riders have been selected by the SDA committee on the basis of their potential to improve and their commitment to the sport.
The Academy was launched at Fort William on the 20 September 2014 at the last SDA race of the season. The riders selected for the Academy will be receiving their training and support during the Autumn and early Spring so they are as prepared as possible for the start of the next race season.
GreenPower is also contributing to the purchase of essential infrastructure such as the new race timing system, the P.A. system, a new trailer and generators.
