On Wednesday 10th September, GreenPower staff George Baxter and Laura Stasyte had the pleasure of attending the RSPB Nature of Scotland Awards shortlisting ceremony at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. The event brought together leading voices from across the country to celebrate this year’s individuals, projects, and businesses driving positive change for our natural world.
GreenPower was proud to once again sponsor the Community Initiative Award and was incredibly excited by the inspirational projects shortlisted this year:
- Aberdeen B-Lines: Pollinator Pathways in the Granite City
- Culbokie Buzzing
- Greyhope Bay: Connecting Communities and the Coast
- Kilminning – Turning Tarmac into Wetland
- Lauriston Farm run by the Edinburgh Agroecology Co-operative
- River Goil Restoration
As in previous years, the winner of the Community Initiative Award will be decided by a public vote. To cast your vote, click here: https://www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happening/nature-of-scotland-awards/community-initiative-award. Voting closes on 1st October.
George Baxter said: “GreenPower has been a sponsor of the awards for many years, reflecting our belief that community-led initiatives are vital to building a more sustainable future. It is always inspiring to see the difference that local groups and organisations can make when they come together to protect the environment.
“Winners of all categories, including the Community Initiative Award, will be announced at the awards ceremony later this year. GreenPower looks forward to celebrating the achievements of all those nominated.
“We would also like to recognise all those who submitted entries this year. The dedication, creativity, and hard work behind every project makes a real difference to Scotland’s wildlife and environment, and it is this collective effort that truly drives change.”
