The next round of funding for the main grants for the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is now open.
The main grant is for constituted groups for £501 up to £7,000 with village hall improvement projects being able to apply for up to £20,000. The closing date is 31st January 2022 and the Steering Group will meet at the end of March 2022 to decide which applications to approve and how much to award them. The grants are available to projects based within or benefitting the five community council areas bordering the wind farm: Avich and Kilchrenan, Kilninver and Kilmelford, Kilmore, Taynuilt, Glenorchy and Innishail.

Recent projects that have benefited from grants include restoration work in some of the local village halls including Kilmore and Kilbride, Glen Orchy, Portsonachan, Kilchrenan and Taynuilt Village Halls. Sports and local interest clubs such as local golf clubs, coastal rowing clubs, gardening clubs and local history groups have also benefited greatly through funds towards the improvement of facilities. Over £315,000 of main grants have been awarded since the start of the fund.
