At the AGM in November, GreenPower celebrated with the SDA committee and riders our long-term support for the SDA and the Academy.
Chair of the Scottish Downhill Association, Colin Houston explained how this year’s riders were selected from the first and second placed riders at the four rounds of the regional qualification races in the British Cycling organised event called ‘Race the Worlds’.
Colin also thanked ex-riders who have kindly donated two full downhill specification bikes for Academy riders to try out. They have been fully upgraded by Harie Bikes.

The training will again be provided by Frazer Mucubbing who will be assisted by Calum McBain.
There will be three days of coaching at Ae Forest in Dumfries (10th December 2023, 13th January 2024, 10th February 2024). Frazer and Calum will take the riders on a track walk the night before the first round of the SDA. Inspecting the track and selecting route lines is all part of improving riding skills.
Rob Forrest, CEO at GreenPower wished all the Academy riders well and said “this is a fantastic opportunity to improve riding skills and techniques as well as learn from Fraser and Callum what it takes to compete at the highest level. I am looking forward to attending the final day of training at Ae forest and to hearing how the riders have found the coaching.”
