GreenPower sponsored rider Mikayla Parten managed a very respectable 5th place at the UK/SDA National Downhill event at Fort William on the 12th May. She was in good company and was on the podium alongside the winner and current World Champion Rachel Atherton.
The event had attracted over 360 entries including a number of elite riders who were keen to get in some practice before the World Cup event at Fort William on the 1 June.
Despite the beautiful sunny weather the challenging track at Nevis Range claimed a number of walking wounded over the weekend and the inevitable delay while riders were safely removed from the track resulted in the organisers of the event deciding that there would only be one race run for each category on the Sunday.
The elite men’s race was won by Gee Atherton in a time of 4.36. GreenPower’s sponsored rider George Gannicot just missed out on a podium place finishing in 6th in 4.44, ahead of some very experienced riders.
